misery needs company

The Good Things are the Enemy
A subtle breeze wanders through the open window
It’s so deliberate that I crave this time last year
When the evening light was shimmering
And you would look so divine
I cannot tell you why…
I want the ground to swallow me whole
I don’t want to die but I don’t want to grow old
You, you didn’t mean to be so severe
But I cannot shake this drug
It’s clear to me now

It’s just like my father said one night
I’ve got to get out of my own head sometimes
I wrap myself in thoughts until they smother me
I convince myself the good things are the enemy
Now the nights just linger pointlessly
And all I really want is your company

But now you’re barely talking to me
And I wonder if we were ever close at all
I didn’t want you to move away
I’m sorry that I couldn’t cope
But you know that the distance made me frail
I needed your touch, your scent, your kiss, your smile,
And that beautiful look in your eyes

It’s just like my father said one night
I’ve got to get out of my own head sometimes
I wrap myself in thoughts until they smother me
I convince myself the good things are the enemy
Now the nights just linger pointlessly
And all I really want is your company

Queste le scarne notizie che sono riuscito a recuperare su di lui:
Ali Whitton is a 24 year old London-based singer songwriter. His debut album, A Failed Attempt at Something worth Saying was recorded with backing band the BrokeRecordPlayers and self-released in February 2008. It is available through itunes, his official website, and also selected independent retailers.
Ali has toured extensively in the UK, and has supported a number of high profile acts including: Tom McRae, James Yorkeston, Jonathan Rice, Holly Golightly, Liam Frost and Captain. He has played a number of festivals including the Carling Leeds Festival and The Secret Garden Party.
Ali began to play at the age of 17 in his home town of Osmotherley, North Yorkshire, but it was at the age of 19 he decided to abandon a degree in mathematics at Leeds University to pursue a career in music. Gaining recognition from local open mic nights, Ali had soon established a solid reputation as an exciting new talent in West Yorkshire.
Over the next few years Ali looked to expand his sound and joined forces with a number of musicians, incorporating viola, lap steel, drums and piano into the band that would eventually become the BrokeRecordPlayers.
Successfully combining solo gigs in London with larger band performances in the North of England, Ali keeps an established fan base while continuing to win over new audiences in the capital.
da seguire con attenzione.
PS 'misery needs company' è il titolo di una sua canzone

in abbinamento: birra Sant'Ambroeus, someone knows why
